The beloved Delacorte Theater has reopened after its first major renovation in over two decades.
Upgrades include:
- A striking reclaimed redwood facade from old NYC water towers.
- Doubled accessible seating, wider seats, ramps, and lifts.
- Improved backstage spaces with air conditioning, gender-neutral restrooms, and better lighting.
- Enhanced audience comforts with a larger canopy, better drainage, and more restrooms.
The renovation blends modern comfort with the theater’s open-air charm, keeping the spirit of Shakespeare in the Park alive for generations to come.
The first performance on the new stage is Twelfth Night, starring Lupita Nyong’o, Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
